We offer fly-fishing adventures on some of the most pristine backcountry waters in Northwest Wyoming. Fly or spin fish rivers, streams and lakes for Brown trout, Brook trout, Cutthroat trout, Golden trout & Rainbow trout. Our knowledgeable guides and staff will assist you in having one of the greatest fishing adventures of your life. Gentle horses will carry you and your gear into the back country where we will set up camp next to fabulous blue-ribbon trout streams and lakes (see the pack trip page for more details on the camps and food). These trips are for both the beginner and advanced fisherman. Already know how to fish? We will get you to the water and set you free. We will stay close to take pictures of all the big fish you catch! Never fly fished before or not that good at it? No problem! Our guides will teach you all you need to know to become a great fly fisherman. We highly recommend catch and release fishing. Warning! This sport will become addicting if it hasn’t already!
Yellowstone and Thorofare Trips
This trip takes you into the upper Yellowstone and Thorofare River where you will fish for the famous Yellowstone Native Cutthroat trout. You will be staying in some of the most remote areas in the lower 48 states. Test your skills on trout 16 to 20 inches in length and weighing 3 to 4 pounds. Trips run 6 to 10 days. Late June thru July
North & Southfork of the Shoshone & Greybull Rivers
These are 3 of the finest fishing rivers around. Great fly fishing for numerous varieties and sizes of trout 10 to 20 inches and up to 5 pounds. There are also some great high mountain lakes on these trips where the fish practically beg to be caught! There are some Golden trout in these lakes as well. The recommended trip length is 5 to 7 days, June thru August.
Fish for all varieties of trout on this one-of-a-kind river. The Buffalo Fork is a tributary of the Snake River and offers anglers a unique opportunity to test all their fishing skills in big waters down to small streams and some of the finest baby-blue lakes named for the fish that swim in them. 5 to 10-day trips recommended.
Single Day Fishing Trips
Ride into the wilderness on horses and fish the Northfork of the Shoshone for the day and return in the evening. Trips offered Mid May thru August. Reservations required.
An 8 or 9 foot fly rod, 4 to 5 weight, two reels. Tapered leaders 5 to 9 ft., and spools of tippet 3 to 6 pound test. Lightweight waders if you choose or you can wet wade with a non-slipping fishing boot, your creel and vest with forceps, nail clippers and polarized glasses.
Suggested flies: Renegade, Stimulators, several varieties of hoppers, Adams, Coachman, Mayflies, Stoneflies, Caddis, and Nymphs, both beaded and plain, sizes 10 to 16.
Spinning tackle should be lightweight or ultra-light with 4 to 6 pound test. Lures should include Daredevils, Mepps, Panther Martin, Rapala; orange, silver and gold colors work the best.
